Post subject:  Chrome casting to X30

I have a Google Home device from which I can cast Spotify or You Tube content to my TV.

My goal is being able to cast Spotify content to my X30.

If I get a Chrome Cast stick (and the necessary plug converters), I can then plug it in to the USB port on the front of the X30 and it all should work?

Has anyone had any success with such an approach or have thoughts on why this will/won't work.

Thanks
Terry

Appreciate your reply. Do you mean my description of what I am trying to achieve was confusing?

Thanks, Wasn't sure about how your connection would work, especially via HDMI.

For chromecase, I don't need the X30 to broadcast, just receive.

Google cast can rearly be update via software it tends to be hardware.
The best option would be to use a jack to just output the sound; if the chrome has a jack lead.

Just to complete this in case anyone else is interested...

I solved this by purchasing a Chromecast Audio (https://store.google.com/gb/product/chromecast_audio), With the supplied connector, I can plug it in to the Aux In socket on the front, but I also purchased a cable to use the TOSLink In socket at the back of the unit instead.

All working perfectly well and I can now cast content from my Google Home device to my x30

Simple you are just putting the chrome dongle into the port; It is not really casting per se but passing the sound through another device.
You could use any speaker for that ...
