Hi,

Although the R0090 firmware came out last July I haven't upgraded my X30 with it because of the new "MusicDB Integrity Check option".

What I really need to know before I upgrade is the following:

Is the "Integrity Check" itself new in firmware R0090, making the Bootup take even longer as before (when setting it to 'In Bootup') or the same time as before (when setting it to 'In Shutdown')?

OR

Was the "Integrity Check" always there (I'm currently on firmware R0083), making the Bootup take the same time as before (when setting it to 'In Bootup') or fáster than before (when setting it to 'In Shutdown')?

Thanks for clarifying this.

Regards,

Mike

mmm No response for almost two weeks.
Thats no good.

Anyone knows how to contact the CocktailAudio team? Maybe on some other board that I'm unaware of?

Thanks

Mike

This question is rhetorical...
To be honest it doesn't make any difference.
The database isn't really well designed as the simple open type on the Pro X100 to to the mirror sql style.
Probably best to chose the shutdown option.

Thanks for the answer.

I don't think the question is rhetorical.
If the "Integrity Check" was NOT there before the latest firmware, then after the upgrade the X30 will either bootup or shutdown slower than before.

To put it simple: if (bootup + shutdown) elapsed time is same as before, then its ok.

It's pretty essential to know. At least for me.

Thanks

Mike

I have an X30 with the upgraded Software, and Integrity Check comes up at shutdown and takes about 3 Seconds for 500+ CD's.

Thanks for the reply.

Your answer implies that this 'feature' is new in the latest firmware upgrade because I can't recall that the current bootup became slower when more CDs were added.
For me, with almost 3000 CDs this would mean 18 sec longer shutdown than before. Again, if the bootup would than become 18 sec faster, I wouldn't mind.

Its such a pity that no one from Cocktail Audio (or Novatron CO LTD) can or wants to confirm if the integrity check is new compared to the previous firmware.
With proper and honest support the product would become so much more flexible.

Mike
