So a few of the links work but exactly the same thing happens attached a small video, link opens, handshakes get 1 second of audio then stops.

I honestly believe that the x12 does not support the secure streaming protocol, what is depressing is that the x12 is no longer supported..

which is crazy I have two of them a few years old, no longer being updated.

abandoned not even legacy fixes.

UPDATE
I did some digging around, and created a lower bandwidth m3u file, with the below content, installed to usb and then inserted to x12 / browse/ usb then click on the files, again it does support multiple addresses in one file, the links all play but at 6 second intervals the audio stops and seem to buffer before continuing to play, not really useable.

and devs or moderators care to comment or help out here.

Have you tried using lower bit rate radios (such as mp3) or using the webGui to add the stations?
You device isn't supported by Cocktail Audio UK; so we can only make suggestions ?
They need to add more encoding for other formats to play.

Can you play this: Test...m3u
https://www.sendspace.com/file/xktg58

Test some stations:
Link: http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/aac.asp

Also note your box can't detect many stations on a single file playlist.
You have to add the stations individually...

many thanks for the reply, and your suggestion and yes it plays that file fine without buffering. do you know of a list of similar bbc streams?

the web gui has the 1 second problem so doesnt work

its probably bit rate related

the x12 does support multiple links in one file like the one posted above, or at least my two does.

Try the hls streams, most of the links were already on the forum eg:
https://garfnet.org.uk/cms/tables/radio ... io-player/

You can change the extension (file.m3u) to .m3u if .3mu8 doesn't work on your device.
Cheers
