hi, my x10 has always worked quite well but now for some reason when i put a cd in the slot to play or rip to the hard drive it doesn't show any title or track information on the screen. The x10 is connected to the internet because i can get internet radio through it. I have tried disconnecting and connecting again but it just won't read a cd. It's started to do my head in!!!

I've not ripped any CDs for a while but just tried and hit the same issue. My X10 was using freedb.org to get CD information. This was taken over by Magix in 2006 but they pulled the plug on freedb and its services in March 2020. Musicbrainz.org is an alternative free source but I'm not sure if this is any way compatible.
It is possible to install the freedb database on the X10 and there is a clear explanation here:
https://www.cocktailaudio.com/home/sub04_04.php
Once installed, the X10 should look locally for details of the CD inserted, rather than try (and fail) to do a freedb.org lookup.
The 1.1GB zip file indicated is dated 08/04/20 but I don't know how up-to-date the contents are nor if it will be updated in the future.
