.............X10 is a streamer (client & server), that is the point.
Even if you click the network icon on WINDOWS you can even see your music.
I think i posted some stuff at the link below: (even the media renderer/server)

You could even use the Upnp protocol with other devices that will see the X10 (music collection).
For example if you have another X10 or media players or other, it will pickup all the songs on your X10 and play then on a tv, hifi or other...............
Even if you have a SONOS, just make your X10 songs shareable and the songs can be seen & played.
Laptops can also access the songs on X10.......
Perhaps you haven't the faintest idea right (are you new to these kits)?
I also posted a reply to another user below:

Hi.
thanks for your reply, to answer your Q no I am not new to this piece of kit, I have had mine for over a year now but I use it as a posh Duke box. It is not that user friendly for the novice though specially with the regular FW updates, getting to know all the functions and what you can do with the X10 is not that hard but again not that easy. Remember They are not always bought by the Nerd brigade there are a lot of none technical people who buy them as well.
I for one am a keen enthusiast but sometimes I struggle to understand tech issues which other's find so matter of fact.
regards
