Switching ripping destinations from internal HDD to USB – such as external HDD or other:
- All the play-lists & internet radio favourites will not work via the USB storage destination.
This is because the entire playlist/favourites list are linked & stored on the internal HDD.
Therefore create another playlist & favourites on the external HDD

- One vital thing to remember is when ripping any files other than WAVE/WAV encoding, on an external HDD, conversion can only take place or complete if the external HDD is connected to the X10 & not switched to internal HDD (X10 must point to external HDD as ripping destination). In other words, the storage setup must be USB.

- Once storage is switched to the internal HDD, the processor will process tasks on the internal & ignore the external HDD.
Hence any conversion process (on the external HDD) will halt, until X10 (storage setup) points to USB (External HDD ripping destination).
However once the X10 storage setup points to USB (external HDD as the ripping destination), conversion will resume & vice versa.

Interesting thing about X10s storage setup being USB(External HDD - ripping destination) is that, conversion is faster due to less files & that a backup can also be created on the same external HDD/storage, as oppose to internal HDD (which requires an external backup drive).

IF you only rip in WAVE then non of this really matters ;)

Option 1: X10---- :arrow: ------ {Processor [Ripping]} ------- :arrow: -------HDD [Destination X] ------<->-------Music DB (A)*

Option 2: X10---- :arrow: ------ {Processor [Ripping]} ------- :arrow: -------USB [Destination Y] ------<->-------Music DB (B)*

Access & conversion *
1 = Okay,
0 = Query Error/won’t convert

X+A=1;
Y+B=1;
X+B=0;
Y+A=0;

Can you see the "HDD1" from the BROWSER?
Did you try the suggestions from the replys?
Thanks,
